Sticking to a low-calorie diet can seem a bit bland at times. You can't enjoy a lot of fatty or sugary foods, and dishes like salad and stir fry aren't always so satisfying when that's all you've had for days. Luckily, there is a secret to livening up your low-calorie diet. It's called "no calorie sweetener." You may think of no-calorie sweetener as a way to sweeten up your coffee or tea, but in fact, there are so many other ways you can use it to liven up your low-calorie eating plan.

Make simple desserts.

Low-calorie sweetener can turn your favorite desserts into low-calorie indulgences. Some sweeteners are specifically made for baking (check the label), and you can use them in place of sugar to make cookies or brownies. You won't want to eat a whole pan of these brownies since they'll still contain plenty of fat, but enjoying one at the end of a long day won't sabotage your diet.

Sweeten your salad dressings.

Most delicious salad dressings, like ranch and Thousand Island, are off the table when you're on a low-calorie diet. But that does not mean you have to stick to boring oil and vinegar. You can make a very flavorful, fruity dressing with some no-calorie sweetener, like Monin. Just mash a few raspberries in the bottom of a bowl, sprinkle in a little sweetener, and add a tablespoon of vinegar. Whisk in a little oil if you prefer, and enjoy.

Make iced cappuccino.

Going without sugary coffee drinks can be one of the toughest aspects of dieting! Black coffee is not that appealing, and plain coffee with sweetener and milk is just no substitute for a carefully crafted iced cappuccino or iced latte.

You can make your own iced cappuccino by first brewing two shots of espresso. Pour a packet of no-calorie sweetener into the bottom of a mug, and add the espresso. Stir to dissolve. Then, stir in a cup of low-calorie almond milk. Pour the whole concoction over 2 cups of crushed ice, and stir. You can even top your creation with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Sweeten your cereal.

When you're following a low-calorie diet, the cereals you're permitted to eat can be a bit bland and flavorless. Liven them up by sprinkling a bit of low-calorie sweetener on top. The resulting dish will rival Frosted Flakes or Sugar Smacks, but with a lot fewer calories.
